Jewelry Care and Materials
SOME OF THE MATERIALS WE USE
Our collections features 18k gold-plated and silver-plated, 925 sterling silver and 14kt gold filled, all nickel-free. We create meaningful jewelry to inspire you on your journey.
Gold-Filled
Gold-filled pieces are made by bonding a thick layer of solid gold to a core of brass or sterling silver. This results in jewelry that looks and wears like solid gold, but at a more accessible price point. It’s tarnish-resistant and ideal for everyday wear. We use 14 karats gold filled on ear wires and some other wires used in our jewelry
Gold-Plated
Our gold-plated jewelry features a delicate layer of gold over a base of 925 sterling silver or, in some cases, brass. Each piece is artisan-made with care. While more delicate than gold-filled, gold-plated pieces offer a beautiful finish when handled with love and stored properly.
Sterling Silver (925)
Sterling silver is a classic, high-quality metal composed of 92.5% pure silver. It has a bright, clean finish and is perfect for everyday wear. To keep it looking its best, polish occasionally and store it away from moisture.
Stainless Steel (304 & 316)
We use both 304 and 316 stainless steel in our designs for their strength, shine, and resistance to tarnish.
-
304 stainless steel is durable, corrosion-resistant, and ideal for everyday wear.
-
316 stainless steel includes a touch of molybdenum, making it even more resistant to moisture, salt, and wear—perfect for sensitive skin or high-humidity environments.
Both options are low-maintenance and hypoallergenic, offering long-lasting beauty with minimal care.
Miyuki Beads
We use authentic Miyuki beads which are precision-cut glass seed beads made in Japan. They are known for their uniform shape and vibrant color. These beads add delicate detail and intricate texture to our designs, and their quality ensures long-lasting beauty.
Faceted Crystals
Our faceted crystals are carefully cut to catch and reflect light beautifully, adding a touch of sparkle to any piece. These high-quality glass crystals offer a refined, elegant look, perfect for elevating everyday styles or adding shimmer to special occasions.
Freshwater Pearls
We use freshwater pearls known for their organic shapes, soft luster, and timeless elegance. Each pearl is naturally unique, adding a one-of-a-kind touch to every piece. Their subtle glow makes them perfect for both everyday wear and special occasions.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR MISBONITO JEWELRY
At Misbonito, we take pride in our quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Each piece is designed and made with intention, in Winnipeg, MB Canada, and inspired by nature. However, some TLC goes a long way! Therefore, our packaging is filled with inserts that will help you take care of your pieces to make them last longer.
Tarnish is a chemical reaction that occurs when metal is exposed to oxygen and moisture, this can cause your jewelry to become discolored, dull, and loose color. To prevent tarnishing, it is important to keep your jewelry dry.
